BACKCOUNTRY LIGHT TACKLE
Involve yourself in hands on fishing! The Outer Banks has many captains skilled at locating fish in the backwaters using light tackle spinning or fly gear. Our vessel is an open boat and has a USCG licensed captain. All bait & tackle are provided, or, if you enjoy fishing with your favorite rod & reel, bring it along. There are definitely more vacationers opting for this exciting way to fish than there are boats and captains, so book early. We specialize in putting together make-up parties, so if you are by yourself, we will match you with one or two others who want the same kind of enjoyment in the backwaters, reducing your cost while providing the same great fishing.
Our backcountry charter trips fish one of 5 sounds, and also in the ocean. We can go flats fishing, bottom fishing, trolling, sight casting, fly fishing, and light tackle spin fishing. The options are numerous. Targeted species include amberjack, cobia, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, bluefish, striped bass, redfish, speckled trout, black drum, flounder, and many others. What you catch depends heavily on weather conditions. Involve yourself in hands on fishing! This type of fishing is hands-on, meaning there is no mate to do the work for you. The captain helps with everything, but you will be involved in the fishing. Our vessel is a center console open boats.
1/2 Day Trips: A morning trip runs from 6:00 am and you will be back on the dock by 10:00 am. The afternoon trips start at 10:30 am and finishes by 2:30 pm. Our evening trips start at 3:00 pm and you're back on the dock by 7:00 pm.
3/4 Day Trips: Morning trips leave at 6:00 am and return at 12 noon. Afternoon trips leave at 12:30 pm and return at 6:30 pm.

1/2 DAY TRIPS: $475
3/4 DAY TRIPS: $775
FULL DAY TRIPS: $900
-All you need to bring is food and drinks. As long as the fish you catch are legal, they are yours to keep or release.
